Construction Of Our New Post
When Post 64 closed their doors at the Geneva street address and the joining of Post 1981, we had to find a new location that would serve our members and our local community. In the fall of 2015, the executive committee decided to purchase a new building, locatrd at 4021 Floyd Blvd., Sioux City, Iowa
Purchasing the building meant a complete remodeling since the building was once a bank with steel and concrete enforced vault. It was also a Domino’s pizza and a Coffe Shop. That meant we had to remove an insulated cooler, brick in the drive-up window once used by the bank. Installing a new furnace and air conditioning system, new disabled and wheelchair accessible restrooms, new lighting, outside signage, plus many more additions.
With only a few talented, and not so talented, members of the Post, demolition and re-building began.
